Once in a Blue Moon

Elisabeth Hayes

Since blue moons—the second full moon in one calendar month—typically occur once every two to three years, tomorrow night's blue moon got me thinking about measures of time and long-term goal setting. Many of us plan each week or set goals for a month or quarter but what if you used the next blue moon to set a big goal? Like learning a new language; saving money for an extravagant trip; losing weight (and keeping it off); landing a new job or promotion. Once in a blue moon will happen whether you make it a milestone or not. Why not use this blue moon as a time to reflect and set a long-term goal for the next blue moon? I plan to. Will you join me?
